After living in Europe and traveling from the Nordic lands down to the beautiful Alps, Karen fell in love with the unique designs and incredible fabrics that are typical of the clothing in the Alpine region. Much of the outerwear was of such high quality that even after years of use, it still retained its shape and color. The design details and cuts were classic enough to never be outdated, yet unique enough to retain its luxurious aesthetic. Not only were the pieces timeless and trendy, the same outerwear that was used as an overcoat to go shopping at the local outdoor market could also be worn to cover elegant evening wear for a night out.

After her time in Europe, Karen wanted to bring all of the amazing qualities of European outerwear to her friends and family here in the U.S. The first item that she brought back to the U.S. was an adorable and amazingly durable boiled wool coat for her daughter. Many were surprised to see her daughter playing in such a beautiful coat.  The remarkable discovery was that neither rain nor snow, nor wind, nor stains limited its durability. Though no one expects adults to be as hard on a coat as a 4-year-old, quality and comfort is desirable for all ages.

After noticing how many people appreciated her daughter’s boiled wool coat, Karen decided that she wanted to curate a collection of clothing that combined styles that are popular to wear in the U.S. but would also hint at the folk designs found in the fashion of the Alps.
